Engineered wood of good quality, matte finish on the painted/picture areas. A little tricky to assemble as included instructions are vague but still intuitive and that's part of the fun. All pieces fit well together. Lids don't open all the way flat against the back of the dumpster should that be a factor in size/placement for your purposes.

Cute but was not made correctly
Like other consumers, I enjoyed the quality of the printing & found it overall very cute as a gift for my girlfriend. However after 20 minutes of trying to fit it together (the instructions are easy to follow), I realized the holes in the backside were cut opposite of how they should be (see attached picture for instructions vs what was provided.In order to make this work, I had to file down a tab on two pieces, which resulted in it assembled together however not as structural sound as if the tabs had been cut correctly.I would not reccomend ordering this & gambling if the pieces were cut right on yours.

Got this as a gift for a friend’s desk at work! We built it during our lunch at work and she loves it! It was a bit hard to push the pieces together but that just shows how sturdy it is.

My favorite going away gift
When a coworker moves onto bigger and better things, I like to gift them with their own personal dumpster fire so that they don’t miss the office too much. It always brings a smile when they open it up. Well made and cute.

Cut wrong
The notches on the box were not cut correctly, so the product assembly was unsuccessful. We had to cut new notches so the pieces would fit. Unfortunately I bought 3 for coworkers and all were like this!

Not as a sturdy as it looks
It’s a great little desk or coffee table pencil holder but it’s got issues. It frequently collapses as you try to connect each side to its corresponding section. It’s also smaller than anticipated.

Cute idea but useless
The pieces don’t fit together well and as a result it’s very flimsy. It would probably work as something to just decorate with, but it’s not usable as a pencil holder. Overall way too much money and I regret buying it
