A delightful pen, and an inexpensive entry into the world of Monteverde pens
I've had my eye on a Monteverde Regatta Sport in one of the limited edition patterns for a while now, then I realized I really didn't need to lay out that kind of money if I didn't know what writing with the pen was like. My wife has bought me this all-black version for our wedding anniversary, and I have to say, it's a really great pen. It's a little heavy, but certainly not the heaviest pen I own. It doesn't pull my shirt down when it's in my pocket. It's a reasonable wait, and nicely balanced. AND it posts! I prefer to post the cap of my pens, this one posts securely. The nib writes well (I have a medium nib). Not too wet, not too dry, just right. One noteworthy quirk of this pen, which I've decided is a feature, not a bug, is that when I cross my arms when the pen is in my pocket, the cap will click a bit while the pen partially uncaps. The magnets keep everything under control, so, it's just a click. I think this is good feedback to me that I am using "closed" body language. And I unfold my arms.Anyway, great pen, I may buy another. :-)

Nice fountain pen, But I expected more
I had this pen waiting in my cart for a long time, I wasn't sure about buying it, but one day there was a pretty striking discount and I couldn't resist and bought it. Once it arrived I wasn't disappointed, but I did expect more, initially its weight, too light for my taste, then its finish, very poor, sharp edges especially the inner edge of the hole where the ink cartridge is inserted which cut the cartridges and the pump when installing them (problem that I solved with a drill bit of a larger diameter and removing the sharp edge). As for the nib I have no complaints, very smooth and with the usual feedback from Yowo nibsFor me I bought it at the right price with the discount because the original price does not correspond to the quality and finish of this specific fountain pen model, REGATTA.

Good pen
This pen is very smooth, nice writing experience. It is on the larger side but for a snub nib, very nice, I enjoy the writing experience. I use it uncapped but even with the cap it is not heavy. The grip for larger hands could be an issue as it is rather thin and the beginning of the body is rather in the way. You have to try to know if it fits. It is good for occasional use for long writing experiences you need to try. But in general it is a good pen for the price.

Great build quality, with some issues functionally
The Monteverde Regatta is a beautiful pen, and I love the magnetic capping/posting.I find the nib doesn't sit well over the feed, and regularly shifts left or right so it's no longer centered. That's not a deal breaker, just slightly irritating. It's worth noting that this only happens with the Omniflex nib, as I've put other Monteverde nibs in the section and had no such issue. The other issue I've run into with this pen occurs during capping/posting. Any time I post the cap on the back of the pen to write, ink will spit out of the nib. It ends up on the page, me, my desk, or anything in close vicinity to the nib. Capping the pen also causes ink to spit out of the nib, making the inside of the cap super dirty. This gets ink on the grip, in turn getting ink on my hands. I'm sure these are both related to the magnetic capping, which is a shame because I genuinely love the feel of capping and posting this pen.Other than those two problems, the pen is great. I haven't dealt with the pen drying out easily, the nib is nice to write with, and it's generally just a nice pen.

Looks nice, performs poorly.
I knew that Monteverde had a reputation for bad nibs, but I took a chance since I've had excellent experience with the related brand Conklin. This was a mistake. The pen looks nice and is well made, but suffers from very hard starts and skipping mid-sentence. Buy it for looks, not to write with.

Amazing pen, writes very smooth
This is an excellent pen. It works well with glitter and sheen inks. Definitely a great edition to my collection.

My first fountain pen!
I decided to make my first foray into fountain pens after seeing this one on one of my favorite authors' Instagram pages. It's a heavy chunk of a pen, but I rather like the weight, and it writes well. The magnetic top is also a nice touch, and I like how easy it is to interchange the nibs. However, I was disappointed in how quickly the metal details on the pen scuffed. It literally had some chips after ONE DAY of use. (I had expected some chipping from other reviews, but not that quickly.) Granted, that's not really a dealbreaker for me, as it doesn't affect how well the pen writes, but I would have expected a pen this expensive to maintain a pristine appearance a little longer than that. Still, it's a great pen, and I'll continue to buy Monteverdes.
