Kaytee Orchard Grass, 16-oz bag

I have two indoor bunnies who like a good variety in their hay. We trade off the types of hay we give the girls. This is always one of their favorites! It’s fresh enough that my allergies notice every time my husband opens the bag! Good value, fresh, and bunny approved! Can’t ask for a higher recommendation.

The best diet for domestic rabbits, I've learned, is full access to Timothy hay, clean water, mineral/salt licks, and plenty of appropriate fresh produce (with very little fruit). However, I've also learned that grazers love all different kinds of grasses, which makes sense since if that's all their natural diet is, I'm sure its taste and smell is more obvious to them. I started providing a small amount of Orchard Grass to my rabbit, and he LOVES it! Most domestic rabbits can gain weight so easily, so try to avoid pellets of any kind, and never offer alfalfa or alfalfa meal! Alfalfa is a legume, not a grass, and is very fattening for herbivores. It should only be fed to animals that have trouble keeping weight on them or who need extra calories for some reason. For rabbits and other herbivorous animals, Orchard Grass is a great way to add variety to their diet. The Kaytee brand offers products that should not be fed to animals they market it towards, and most pet store employees are not knowledgeable about it at all. But after doing your own reading, buying the appropriate Kaytee products for your pet is a winning combination. This Kaytee product is amazing!

This Kaytee Orchard grass is a great addition to the Timothy hay and rabbit food we already feed to our 3 rabbits. From what I have read and what our vet has told us it is a healthy grass that adds to their diet in a very good ay, especially since all three seem to go right for it when I place it in to their enclosure. The price is great and it lasts a long time. Although it looks like a small bag, the grass is compacted well in the bag so it is much more than it seems. I would highly recoomend it to rabbt owners.

This product was nice, it will definitely last me a whileeee since I only use it for my hamsters cage so she can have more stable dens. It's fairly dusty but I've started shaking the bag to get the dust out and started leaving the grass I'm going to use for her next time out or in the freezer for a day before hand, it seems to be helping the dust problem. If you have hamsters it's very nice and it hasn't cut her little cheeks or skin at all.

Bought this for my senior buns and he's been enjoying ever since :) I've tried a number of meadow mixes, timothy hay bales, etc and this has a nice, fresh aroma that even I can appreciate! It's also a great economical purchase because you get quite a bit for your money and it's from kaytee, who also makes his primary food so it's a quality that's proven quite dependable over his eight years.

My baby rabbit absolutely loves this ! I've given her Timothy Hay, Alfalfa Hay, and this. I'm very allergic to hay and I still give it to her. Although, she goes straight for the orchard grass over all of her choices. In the morning, I grab the bag and she does a few zoomies and binkies and gets super excited for it !!!!

I bought this just to add some diversity to my rabbits diet. I added it to his litter box and he was immediately jumping in to start doing his thing. The strands are a bit on the short side but other than that it seems great.

My guinea pigs are so picky, but they love this! They used to eat the Timothy hay but I’m pretty sure I’m allergic to it. This doesn’t bother me one bit, no more asthma attacks after feeding my piggies! Nice and green and crunchy.
