The dye colors are incredible! I made Ukrainian Easter eggs in high school but had forgotten how vibrant they are.The kistkas work great. They are designed to let you heat the open end for scooping with only minimal heat transfer to the tip. This makes it less likely to drip while you are scooping beeswax. Then you heat the tip to start the flow of wax. I still sometimes dripped wax while scooping.We were able to make intricate designs. The only limit was the patience of our 7 year olds, and fatigue from sitting at the table for hours. A very basic egg design can be done in under a half hour. An elaborate design might take as much as two hours. So plan accordingly.Notes:1. Prepare the dyes the day before you want to color the eggs.2. Keep the water boiling while you make the dyes. If the water cools too much, some of the colors will not mix well. We had difficulty getting green and purple to mix completely. But even with that problem, those colors worked great.3. When planning your designs, the "red" is more of a pink, and the "maroon" might be closer to what you expect as red.4. The "tealight" candle that comes with this kit works okay, but only lasts about 2 or 3 hours. You might want to have another candle on hand.5. I "drained" two eggs and used four raw eggs. The raw eggs will obviously only last a few days, but they are easier to dye because they sink. The eggs that I emptied had to be held down in the dye because they float.6. I cracked an egg while trying to empty it, but was still able to color it. That became my color test egg.7. We used two plastic tablecloths to protect our kitchen table, but one would have been enough. The instructions say to use a newspaper, but who has those nowadays?8. The wire spoon-like egg dippers from Paas kits are useful for dipping.9. Wear gloves. The dyes take about a day of normal hand washing to come off. I had purple fingertips for about a day.

I was delighted to receive this set for traditional Pysanky. My kids are away from home now but we still can enjoy our Ukrainian family traditions . This such a delight to have this kind of product on Amazon.Hutsuls set is perfect, nicely packaged and has detailed instructions, that even if you know how to do it it very helpful to remind and for novices it will be perfect knowledge. Kistkas are of perfect quality and easy to hold. Perfect set of colors too. It is worth the money definitely. We will definitely have perfect pysanky time with family.I wish we could buy also sets of other Ukrainian traditions like paste baking, embroidery.

Truly absolutely speechless! The package came beautifully assembled, you can tell it was done with love and the utmost attention to detail! It included everything from the bees wax to 10 individual high quality dyes. It includes instructions, design ideas to get you started with good design examples and how to devide the egg up from basic designs to complex professional ones. The kistkas are great quality and even comes with an egg stand! Being Ukrainian born and raised in Lviv Ukraine until I was 10 and moved to Seattle with family I've made pysankys before taught by my great grandma and its been one of my most cherished memorable memories! The icing on the cake with this particular product was the hard written thank you letter! It made my week! I look forward to making pysankys while teaching my cousins & family! Thank you so much for a wonderful set. It is very convenient to have everything in one box. The quality of kistkas is perfect: easy to hold, great size, fennel part is well made, so that it does not leak. Great to have 3 different sizes of lines. I was using the midddle one and kids were using the thickest one, which is easier to handle for an unexperienced writer. Colors look good, however, I added vinegar to the yellow color to make it brighter. Would highly recommend. It would also make a great present.

This kit includes everything you need for you first pysanka! It is a great place for beginners to use this, includes a very detailed guide and a step by step instructions; dye and all tools. Would recommend and buy again. 🇺🇦💪
