Very comfortable and attractive
I'm very pleased with this glider. Looks good, very comfortable to sit in, and the gliding action is smooth. I found it to be a good value for the money.Putting it together is not too bad, but you'll want to set aside an hour or so. Before assembly, I coated the wood slats with an exterior polyurethane to keep them water/weather resistant (it's a gift for my Mom, and she will most likely leave it outside year-round). If you plan on protecting the wood with poly or an oil finish such as tung oil you should definitely do so prior to assembly - takes a fraction of the time. The hardware packets are labeled and referenced in the assembly instructions, so finding the right bolt/piece is pretty easy. My only complaints are minor: the assembly sheet could use bigger type and bigger illustrations; and two of the bolt holes in the metal bars were not fully drilled through. A quick pass with a drill got rid of the metal shavings that were blocking the holes.Overall material quality seems good. I expect it will last many years with minor maintenance.

Very pleased!
The gliders came in a timely manner, were well packaged and all the parts were included. The instructions were very well written and easy to follow, making the assembly go smoothly. I did have to drill out one hole and run a screwdriver through a couple of holes in the metal, but didn't think that was an issue at all.I took the advice of some previous reviewers and coated the wood with a polyurethane finish before assembly, making it much easier. The gliders are beautiful, the gliding action is smooth and they are sturdy. I will be adding some cushions, (personal preference), but they are comfortable with out them. These are a very good quality product and well worth the money I paid for the. I am quite pleased with them!

BEST QUALITY CHAIR FOR PRICE I PAID
It's true this, to me was a bear to assemble. However, I have frontal lobe damage and that makes things like this more difficult. I assembled this in about four and a a half hour, "by my self ", spread out in two days. This is very sturdy very good material, the hardwood is excellent and I believe this will last me a lifetime (care and maintenance of course). The only thing I can actually see going out is the gliders "bearings" but care and occasional oiling will help thisI have this chair on a screened in back porch with its humid here in Florida but it will not be subjected to rain just perhaps moisture from humidity. It is very comfortable. I have 4 other chairs on the back porch including 2 zero gravity chairs and one swivel leather office chair and a vintage rocker. Most of my time (if not all) on the porch will be spent on this Jack Post Glider. Very Happy with this purchase. For the price I paid; $68.00 including shipping, there is NO WAY you are going to get this good a quality chair anywhere for this price. I would have to be shown in order to believe that!

Looks and functions well
It is attractive, very sturdy, and the glider function works perfectly. It took 3 hours to assemble, in part because the instructions are sketchy, especially on one key point very early on. I used a tape measure to measure the length of bolts because there are a lot of them, some of almost identical lengths -- 60 vs 62 cm for example. But it looks and functions very well.

No Hardware Included? Too Bad - Customer Has to Buy It
We purchased 2 of these chairs - one that was put together right away and another to assemble later. The first one was ok - all parts in the box. Second one had no hardware (and there are numerous sized screws, etc., to put the thing together). Called customer support and received a packet of 4 bolts. That is all they would offer to do. The instruction sheet even mentions that hardware can be replaced locally, which we construe to mean it's the buyer's issue if any hardware is missing.

Great outdoor glider - still happy after 5+ years!
I ordered this chair with the free Super Saver Shipping option, but it still made it in only 3 days from Indiana to Texas. It took about an hour to assemble. Like many products, the instructions made a few assumptions to keep the assembly manual to a reasonable size, but it was pretty easy to figure out based on the illustrations and picture on the box. The only tools I used were a hammer, 7/16" socket wrench, and flat blade screwdriver. A power driver would save several minutes of assembly time since there are dozens and dozens of nuts and bolts. The only "problem" I had, per se, was one of the holes in the square tubing frame behind the third wood slat down from the top was punched/drilled at an angle. I just took a screwdriver, inserted it through the hole, and slightly elongated it so the bolt would go through. Everything else lined up perfectly. I'm very picky and hard to please, but if this chair holds up for at least a few years, then I'll be extremely pleased. I've been looking for a single outdoor glider/rocker for years, but there aren't many on the market. I bought 8 folding rockers from a motor home supply place several years ago. They were made of metal, plastic, and fabric. ALL 8 of them failed in exactly the same way - the backs came un-rivited from the arms and the chair would collapse into a piece of garbage. This glider, however, initially appears to be well-designed.Update: Just received my second one on 5/2/11 after being so satisfied with the first one. It appears to be well-designed and is holding up well. It took exactly one hour and fifteen minutes from unboxing to complete assembly - a little longer than the first one because I followed the instructions more carefully this time rather than assembling it "my own way". BE CAREFUL not to overtighten the bolts that secure the boards - particularly the boards that are attached to curved areas of the frame as they will split if over-tightened!Update January 1, 2016: It's been over five years since I purchased the first chair. I now own six of these! I keep all six outdoors under patios. They've held up wonderfully. There is no rust and the wood is holding up well. I've had to replace a few nuts that got loose and fell off and every now and then the glider bearings will squeak a bit and need lubricating, but that's all. I'm still extremely pleased with these chairs.
