Flap lap yes, faceting machine No
This is not a faceting machine - it might work as a flat lap. It is missing an angle lock/stop for the protractor which will make repeatable, precise and controlled facet grinding impossible. But the biggest issue is that the horizontal distance between the mast and lap center is too short, placing the quill against the lap surface as you approach 90 degrees/horizontal for girdle grinding.

Sanding efficiency is very high, and very stable machine, accuracy is very good, that sanding drill with the material is very durable and strong, sanding with it really feel very powerful, to be much better than before.
