This is a quality pedestal set. I don’t have my aluminum boat rebuild complete yet, but when I install these I will update this review with some photos. but upon inspection, these appear to be very high quality and solid as a rock. Looking forward to fishing from them.

I got this kit to add extra seating on my back bench for passengers and it seems to do fine. Its a nice sturdy build and seems quality. I have no worry as far as I stalling or using. It is. Little tough to pull the post from the base, but I think it will soften up a bit in time, I'm not sure if the post clips are stiff or the plastic hole spacer is a tad tight but again I think it will break in.Passenger that has used it has no complaints and is happy to have it. Does t seem wobbly or weak. I did add it on top of a plate of 1/16 aluminum because my benches are thin but I think if your going on something solid you could do without that.Overall a working, solid, well built kit. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this if I need another one.

A good set. The base plate is better than average quality with extra ‘ribs’ to reinforce the cast aluminum mount.I purchased a 16” post to go with this set, so verify that the 11” post provided will be of sufficient length to meet your needs. Pin length of post is of standard 2.75" lengthWhile the base plate dimensions are correct, the seat mount hole spacing dimensions are weird. The real dimensions are 4.75" to 5.75" on center, and are of standard spacing

I’ve had problems with the plastic base on my old seat mounts breaking when I’ve had heavier passengers. The plastic that sits in the floor base just isn’t built for big guys. This seems very solid and has a nice tight fit without wobbling. It does say not to use it at speeds above 5mph but I think it will be fine as a post for a rear seat in my boat.

So putting a new seat into the boat, I would go with a new post. This one solid, but has a little bit of tensile strength weakness. It’s awful high. Ease of installation on the chair is nice however in the woods a little difficult. Overall, it’s decent.

You get everything you need to install a new seat in your boat – except the seat. I was putting a seat in the open bow of my powerboat so someone can fish forward and this kit was just what I needed. I had already selected a folding seat, so this was everything else. I screwed the base into the 1” plywood flooring and then the top plate, to the underside of the seat – just the right size.The post is strong and all the components are well made.
