Fantastic quality, large truck!
This is a high quality, well made dump truck. It's not the cheap plastic like so many toys seem to be. This thing can take a licking! Our almost 3 year old asked for it from Santa for Christmas, and I think he and Santa both made an excellent choice. It's nice and large, which allows it to hold a large variety of items. It can dump a ton of dirt at the playground, take Barbie and her friends for a joy ride, move our whole stash of footballs from place to place, or bring Lightning McQueen and his 1000 friends on a road trip adventure. It can bang down the slide, into walls, over rock beds and down the sloped driveway...and the only damage is to the walls. :) It's big enough that an average sized 3 year old can push it around while standing and bending over. It can even handle the kids sitting in the back of it and taking turns dumping each other out!If you have a construction fan, truck fan, Tonka fan, or just a kiddo (or adult!) who would enjoy a great quality, dependable toy, this is it. It's definitely more expensive than a lot of options, but it's big and it's so well made. I can't see this thing breaking down. It might even be around to pass to the grand kids one day!

Big and Fun. The best toy... MUST HAVE
I used to have this as a kid in the mid 90's and I had to buy this for my 14 mo old son. The bed is metal and the rest is hard plastic. The one I used to have was all metal but they don't make them like they used to, but it's not a big deal for me. It's still a Tonka. It's BIG and he loves it. He sits in the back and I push him all around the house and yard. He also puts his fav toys and balls in the back and pushes the truck himself. It's strong and durable. You MUST get this for your son, grandson, nephew, friend. It's fun and will distract them for hours.

Big and heavy duty
Got this for my seven year old grandson. It is almost all metal and heavy duty, he wanted a dump truck he could open the doors on, but couldn’t find any with that feature. It is big enough so he can sit in the dump bed, he likes it. Recommended!

Great dump truck for kids
This is probably my 2 year old son's favorite toy.We live in a rural area so he is able to drag this thing with him wherever he goes and so far it has held up to it.It gets left outside, rolled down hills, filled rocks, hit with rocks, and a litany of other things that would damage or destroy other toys but this one is solid. So far it isn't even dented or bent, and this is with being left outside for nearly 6 months now (through the winter too).Anyhow this toy is tough, and if your kid likes trucks like mine they will probably get a lot of use out of this toy.I will say it is probably more appropriate for outside play since it is so big, but could be fine inside as well.

Best toy ever.
Awesome truck. I own three of these and my kids get hours of entertainment. They are big enough for a kid to sit in it and ride around in it. My kids ride them down a skateboard ramp and it has never flipped on them. I know some people complain “it’s not like the old ones made from all metal” unless your throwing it off your roof, you will not be disappointed. These things are tough. I have four kids and they yet to break one.

Super Tonka Truck is a Hit
Bought one for my neighbor's son and the smaller version for my son but when we saw t his we both were amazed by it, so of course mom had to order it! It's actually great to have both sizes for different aged kids. This large one they use to tote around hot wheels, Barbies, sippy cups, whatever! They ride around in both of them as well as push their 10 month old sister around for a ride (adorable!) They play with this every day and I love how durable it is and it doesn't scratch floors. Strong like Tonka brand is known to be and still the classic that my husband and I grew up with. Also no loud sirens lights bells or whistles! A bonus is we fill it up at clean up time and my two year old pushes it over to the toy organizer to put his toys away. This also has a lifetime warranty which is wonderful in the event something would happen. We will be back to buy more Tonka for his birthday in the fall!

Not like the old days but okay.
Nice dump truck. I looked and looked and looked for a all metal Tonka truck with size and quality like they used to manufacture - new or used. Most of the used ones you find on e-Bay for $100s if they're decent while the rusted ones are cheaper. I even looked at non-Tonkas for similar metal/quality/style. They don't exist.I was told all the yellow are metal and the black plastic on this truck. Not quite true. The metal part (singular) is the large yellow dump. I'd guess the thickness of that metal is about 1/8" (0.125"). The yellow cab is plastic. The yellow wheel axle area is plastic. The black tires are hollow plastic and somewhat cheap. There is a black handle sitting directly on top of the cab. You pull the handle up and the truck will dump its load. That is how it works.Having said that the truck holds my 2 year old grandson (about 25 lbs) and 5 year old granddaughter (about 40 lbs). It was a birthday gift for the boy but both like to play with it. My grandson pushes it around the kitchen and outside. It is a big truck. At the time of purchase the cost was just short of $40, which I thought was about $10 overpriced considering these are made in China.I give this 4 stars because all metal Tonkas of this size are no longer being manufactured. Those were and are the gold standard. There are small Tonka trucks/cars made of all metal. I didn't price those. I wanted big. This is okay but I am disappointed though my grandson is not.Other options:1) What I did find for an older kid are some new collector cars. These are all metal, fairly priced, and higher quality. You find a '39 Ford pickup or '56 Chevy and this kind of vehicle. These are decent size (not as big as Tonka but decent) and the tires do rotate so a kid can push it and it will move.2) Small Tonka trucks/cars - big tires, small vehicle. The vehicle will fit the entire had of a small kid but it's nowhere near the size I remember. Have no idea what these cost.
