Strong Output, Doesn't Overheat in Low Water Conditions
The media could not be loaded. Replaced a 4 year old Anjon DFEF Big Frog 5,500 GPH pump with this Aquascape 3-PL 3000 Solids Handling Pump and after 3 months of using it I am very impressed. It matched up perfectly to my 2 inch plumbing in my Atlantic Gardens Skimmer Box and it really keeps our 12' x 8' 1,200 gallon Koi Pond clear and it provides a robust flow over our 24" wide waterfal feature that sits 32" above the pond. In fact, I probably could have gone with a much less powerful pump, but I loved the solids handling ability of this pump and we really like the way the waters come crashing down our rock spill way back to to the pond - it is an excellent source of aeration. There is excellent water movement through the pond with this pump and when I first installed it our water was so dark with algae you couldn't see the fish. We used this pump to remove about a third of the water and refilled the pond 3 times adding PondWorx bacteria each time and cleaning the filter pads and bio balls each time. We now have a crystal clear pond and this pump pulls so much algae out of the water it completely saturates our fine filter pad in the skimmer box after about 3 days and when it does that, the skimmer box goes low water volume and the pump starts sucking air. Even though the pump has been partially exposed repeatedly, it has never felt warm to the touch and it hasn't frozen up or stopped working at all. Even when we were clearing the huge debris by sumping out a third of the pond volume, it passed all the debris with no problem. Our pond is awesome now and our fish are happy. In fact, after we got the water cleaned we found about 20 babies swimming around. As for the fine filters needing cleaning so frequently, and causing low water volume in the skimmer box, if we need to go away for an extended period of time, I will pull the fine filter pad and just go with the course one to maintain the volume in the skimmer. Many ponds have a self filling feature, but since our water comes from a city supply we have to treat it before filling the poind. This is a great pump, and it is very quiet unless it is sucking air along with the water due to low water levels in the skimmer box, but that isn't a normal condition and is more of a skimer box problem than a pump issue. The important thing is this pump is strong, very quiet when submerged, and it can handle adverse condidtions well without overheating and it passes debris quite well. There are cheaper products out there, but this is a solid well-buit pump, not cheap plastic.

Nice quiet pump for pond
This was a replacement for my pond pump (of the same model) that was making a lot of noise . I think the bearings were wearing out. This pump is very quiet and of course the fittings were the same as the old pump, so it was an easy install. One difference from my old pump is that the power cord is about 5 feet longer and this is great so that I didn't have to use an extension cord to plug in the pump.My old pump lasted about 10 years, so I'm longing forward to the same longevity from the new pump.

Great pump
Great pump works great and is a trash type so it doesn't get clogged!

Didn't last long
Purchased in June 2024. It is Nov 2024, pump no longer works, and I'm outside of the 30 day return/replacement policy. Needless to say I am left with the $600.00+ futile object and still have to purchase another pump. Buyer's beware!

Easy to install but longevity vs price can be an issue
The first pump we installed lasted about a year but was replaced under warranty. The 2nd pump lasted about a year and also was replaced under warranty. The third pump lasted about 7 years. Just installed the 4th pump about 1-2 months ago. Depending on how long this one lasts may go to a new pump manufacturer due to the high cost of this one

Great pond pump
We always use these pumps for our Koi pond. I had an old one that finally died so we were happy to get a quick replacement via Amazon. The pump arrived very promptly and in perfect condition. I highly recommend this seller as well as this particular brand of pump. It has been super reliable for us for years.

Swap out 3000 pro, swap in 3PL
My Aquascape 3000 pro started tripping the GFI so I figured it had water infiltration after 22 years. Fortunately my waterfall also had a 4500 pro that died about five years ago that I never replaced and so I had an empty caisson in which to install this one. Getting the old 3000 out is a chore because the backflow valve is tightly screwed down so I just left it in.This unit is much quieter than the old 3000 pro which is also probably a clue that it was on the way out. I never did any maintenance on it in 22 years figuring it was a sealed unit but the 3PL has instructions on what to do annually. My wife is happy ergo I am happy.

great pumps
My second one, first one lasted 17 years, bearing started to get noisy. Mind you my pond gets very dirty with debris and I am not the best at cleaning the net regularly so my pump was starving for water a a number of times over the years, I'm surprised it lasted that long. Got this new one and it is so quiet, hope I get 17 more years from this one. Maybe if treat it right it will last longer. LOL
