AgaMatrixWavesense Normal Control Solution, 1 Vial (6 Ml)

It read 183 on my old meter which has been in my First Responder bag in my pickup for about 5 years. It should have read between 113 and 153 (very wide range) if the meter and strips were good. I have been intermittent fasting since last year, which is supposed to get you into mild ketosis, and decided to check my BGL. If you're in mild ketosis your BGL will be below 90. Mine was creeping above that, so I bought the control solution. Time to replace my old meter.By the way, urine ketone test strips might not tell if you're in mild ketosis right away since the ketones have to first build up in the blood before the kidneys start removing them. Then it has to build up high enough in the urine to be measurable.The instructions say the solution works only with certain brands of meters, but I think many of the brands are made by the same company, especially when the control labels on the strips are identical.

I bought the wrong solution. Not the fault of Agamatrix. I'm guessing this works, because I bought Agamatrix control #2, as well. That one is the correct one for my Choice machine, and that one works.

If you suspect your blood sugar readings aren't right, it's a very bad feeling. You don't really know what you should do. This solution is standardized to be between 103 and 156 mg/dL (normal range). My batch tested at 133 mg/dL. You can check your glucose meter against this standard whenever something happens (new meter, dropped meter, you feel very different than the reading you measured). Just put a drop on a clean plastic surface and test as if it was a drop of blood. It's got a blue dye in it so I'd avoid getting it on your clothes, but it can be helpful to ensure you've got enough sample in your test strip.

Performed exactly as it said it would. It bought a CVS brand meter and wanted to test it's reliability, but they don't carry this product for some reason. I used it and looks like it works.
