Very beautifully written book
Very beautifully written book. It is quite mesmerising that Moti Nandi wrote the book around the time when Daniel Chambliss was doing his research on Olympic swimmers ( Champions and Mundanity of Excellence) and Benjamin Bloom was doing his work on developing talent among young people and comes very close to their structured research. After reading this English translation you will feel like learning Bengali to read more of Moti Nandi’s books. The movie with the same title is also equally beautiful and although in Bengali you can easily understand it . I envy those who know Bengali.

Go for it
Great novella, great translation (translator herself admits that it was a very easy book to translate.) It is an inspiring story about an Indian girl athelete, from the poorest of the poor people. Recommended for pre-teens & teens. As an adult, one would be quite amused by the "managerial skills" of Khitish, who considers himself an out-&-out sports coach.

Old book in place of new
This is definitely not a new book. The condition is bad. It’s a shame.
