Great addition to my desk
I keep this little guy off to the side of my desk where it often just works as a landing pad for hard drives or camera gear/parts. But, when I need to cut something with an XACTO knife, it sure is nice to have everything I need close at hand.I've sliced all sorts of stuff on it, usually paper, and it still looks brand new. I value the padding it provides under whatever I might place on it because I finished the desk myself and will be much easier to replace if I were to actually cause damage to it (doubtful, especially compared to wood). It can definitely handle the sharp metal edges of some of the items I've set on it.Also, the black side fits in very nice next to my mostly black computer, audio, and video equipment.Recommended.

Will use often
Not as big as I'd like, but will fit on my folding table when I need to cut something.

Works well for cutting, but not well for Clay
I bought this mat originally to use for polymer clay. That being said, Clay does stick to the mat. The mat works really well when cutting on it, but if you’re using this, for Clay, I would not recommend. Also smaller than expected but that is due to me not understanding inches 😂

Durable Mat
What a great Mat. Super thick and durable but still playable. I wish all my mats were from these brand.

Well made, nice to work on.
Ive been using this as a cutting mat. Been slicing away at it everyday, and its holding up fine. Nice comfortable surface to work on. Also nice and small, takes up no space. Its Great!

Used to replace plastic plate from die cut machine
Recently purchased a new Gemini die cut / embosser machine and after just 3 uses, the top plastic 9x12 plate was so bent and scratched from the dies,it was difficult to use. This self healing mat works terrific in lieu of that top plate. It's the same thickness so it cuts perfectly! No more marks on my craft paper from the marks on the plastic plate when making a card AND it doesn't bend like the plastic plates., which make it easier to handle when putting it through the machine. So pleased!

11x8 inches NOT 9x12
If you look at the product image, the grid is actually 11x8. Not sure what they are counting but the edges are only 1/2 inch but they should not be counting the edges at all.I didn't think to verify the measurements by looking at the numbers on the mat's Amazon image.The mat is thick and will serve my purpose, despite not being the right size.
