We bought a Nook when they first came out and since replaced it with the newer Nook Color. Along the way, the charging cable went missing and the connector is a bit unique, longer than most. Early on the replacement parts were simply too expensive, then unavailable. This Wall Charger is perfect and inexpensive. The nay-sayers in the evaluations were trying to use it for other than the earlist Nook. It won't work for anything BUT the earliest Nook. Not sure why folks don't read descriptions and then low rate the product. This charger works perfectly for what it was designed for; the Nook First Edition.

I bought this charger for a first edition, black-and-white Nook. The mini connector is too short to properly fit the Nook.First-edition Nooks require a longer-than-usual mini-usb connector; these plugs were designed were designed specifically for B&N's first e-reader; oddly enough, some smart phones use this longer mini-usb connector. This was purchased as a gift for a family member and she's sending it back to Amazon.

I purchased a number of chargers that did not charge my 1st gen nook color before buying this one that worked fine. It does not indicate charging on the screen of my nook which is why only 4 stars but it does charge well

Did not fit the Nook well but it did charge it. I didn't think it would work, but left it in all night and Nook was fully charged in the morning. Good for the price.

Not the right charger

This charger only worked for a few minutes, it charged my Nook HALFWAY and then stopped working out of nowhere. Now I have to buy another charger somewhere else.

Stopped working after first use. Get it from Barnes and Noble if you have to get one.
