Enjoyable to work with
I bought this after reading a pattern that used it and I absolutely love it! It's pricey, so I wouldn't buy it for everything, but it's so nice to work with. I used it for a crochet shawl and the texture and density allowed for a very nice drape compared to other yarns that had less movement in the final product.

This is wonderful yarn. It is easy to work with and I love the lightweight texture.
I first bought a cake of the Lavenderlicious color and made a shawl for myself from that. It was actually my first crochet project and it came out wonderfully. I loved the fact that the yarn was 1000 meters and you did not have to splice it in yourself. The color changes are very gradual. There are 6 distinct colors in the skein, and the way that they change is 1 or 2 threads at a time, so the change is so subtle that it flows very nice from one color to the next. As you can see in the pictures, one picture shows where one color starts to change into the next, and you can see that the threads change. They have one end and another start, and they are kind of felted in but it is not really noticeable. The pictures with the yellow highlighting shows where the thread changes have been worked in and how it looks in the stitches. The other two pictures are of the finished project and show how gradual the color change is and how great the overall look of the yarn is.The yarn is 6 strand and it is about as thick as embroidery floss, although it is not as glossy or slick. It is very easy to work with and the yarn did not slip or pull. I have had the shawl finished for 10 months and I wear it regularly and it does not have any pills on it. It is in great shape. It has not pulled out of shape or shrunk.I loved working with this one so much that when I finished this project I made a shawl for my daughter-in-law and then one for my mother out of two other colors (both of which are currently not available any longer). I am also getting ready to order another one to make another shawl for myself, as I want one in the Tasty-Nom-Nom color to go with some of my other outfits.I would recommend this yarn to anyone. It will take more yarn than regular yarn, as the butterfly pattern shawl that I did has 16 rows and a border, and some people that used "normal" yarn had the same size shawl with only 7 rows due to the size difference in the yarn. It is also lighter weight than "normal" yarn due to this, so take this into account, however, the 1000 meter cake was sufficient to complete my shawl with very little left over. (My son pointed out that I am wearing a Kilometer of yarn that I crocheted). Projects of course take longer due to the smaller size yarn also, unless this is the size required. I used a size 3.5mm E crochet hook with this yarn.

Some of my new favorite yarn
I'm a knitter and a crocheter, and I've recently gotten into making crocheted sweaters. The issue I used to have with crocheted garments is the thickness of the resulting fabric. Crocheted fabric is thicker by nature, so you need to use fine yarn to make a moderately fine garment. This yarn is a great weight for spring and fall sweaters, and it comes in a lot of lovely color combinations.I bought this yarn because I was in love with the colorway after seeing a shawl made with it on Instagram. I knew I wanted to make a top-down sweater with a yoke using this yarn because it's a construction I've never done before. I started out with a knit sweater in mind, but it was clear from the cast-on that this yarn and my Chiaogoo needles were not working well together. Whirl is mostly cotton, so it's a little "grabby" on the metal needles I tried, and they're my slickest set. So, I switched to a crocheted yoke sweater pattern, and I've been gloriously happy with the project ever since.Full disclosure to those who are disappointed by joins in their yarn - the way the colors of this yarn are plied together means that there will be multiple joins in every ball, each time a new proportion of colors are blended in. They are relatively minor - just a bit of extra fuzzy texture - but I wouldn't want to have them show on the outside of a garment. I dealt with the joins in crochet by working right up to the join, skipping the fuzzy joined part of the yarn, then working with the yarn after the join. At the same time I worked over the bit of yarn with the join. This little loop was tucked under my stitches and no extra ends to weave in.The joins in this yarn can become a real advantage if you are making a longer garment and working from multiple balls of yarn at once. I know that I need to stop at the next join and work from a different ball when I hit a join. By working with 3 balls at once, I am extending the length of each color repeat and making a smooth, gradual color transition throughout the garment.I was worried about hand fatigue from working with cotton, but I haven't had any issues so far.

Beautiful, nice hand feel, joins are subtle in most cases
I wasn't able to find photos of the joins when I bought this but decided to trust the reviews that said the joins are fine rather than the ones that said they were big ugly knots or something. So glad I bought this gorgeous yarn! It's knitting up beautifully, is a joy to work with (no splitting, feels nice on my hands, I usually don't like working with cotton but this has a nice dinner and flexibility to it more like a wool blend but with the coolness and smooth appearance of cotton.) I have uploaded a photo of a join so you can see that they are quite nice and really do blend in so long as you aren't doing lace (if you're doing lace, I'd recommend cutting the joins and redoing them to be invisible, it's totally worth the extra effort, just think of it as joining separate balls of perfectly matched gradient yarns). There are quite a few because this is true gradient yarn. It doesn't go from red to orange immediately, just one strand at a time changes so it's a nice subtle blend from one color to the next. I love this yarn and will probably be on a bit of a binge of projects using it.Updated: I've knit a shawl and a skirt with this. For the skirt I cut out the joins and used a magic knot. I wish they'd done a better job with the joins but the yarn is so gorgeous it's worth the worry about what to do with the joins.

Yarn review
While crocheting a shawl, there were two breaks in the yarn which is very frustrating in the middle of a project. Also, the color changes in the yarn are very sloppy. It’s not an issue for the reseller, but the manufacturer (Scheepjees). Not my favourite yarn. Thank you.

Good quality yarn
I love this product! The colour is very consistent in the many balls of yarn purchased, so that is nice! It is a bit pricy, but the quality is great!
