After examining all the options for Mercury 150HP outboard motors, this product jumped out as being a very nice alternative to the "name-brand" items that typically cost much more. It arrived promptly, fits extremely well, and appears to be made of a durable material. It survived Tropical Storm Florence without any issues at all. I can't assess its lasting power because it's brand new, but it appears to be constructed for the long term. And, for the price, its a great cover even if it only lasts a few years.

Did not fit over the whole engine and prop, so I could not zip it at all. Tore after the second use, tie down cord pulled off after second use.I would not recommend this product at all cheaply made poor quality.

Fits my 1989 135 horse Black Max motor pretty good. Seems like pretty strong material.

Junk. Ripped putting on first time. Cheap material.

If you live in an area where there is a lot of sun (the south, or arizona like me) or where there is a lot of rain (NW), or snow (NE, W, MW, NE, Northern US)---or really anywhere and your boat is not stored in a garage or is not covered, then you need to do all you can to protect it from damage---the wind, sun, rain, snow, dust--all of these things will destroy your boats interior, the wiring, the cables, the windshield, upholstery, and anything you have inside of it like fishing tackle, nets, ropes, etc. Here in Arizona the sun will completely destroy these things in a summer if you do not cover it and I mean cover it completely.I bought a new 300$ boat cover from cabelas and in 3 months the color has changed from beige to white- just from the sun. I now use two covers and bought this cover for my motor---motors are only 10-15K. I do not want to replace it. So- you can see how well this covers my mercury outboard- 115HP- I think if you have anything larger than 150 you will need a larger size- but this is really a great item. It has elastic cord lining the exterior (see the black cord tied above the prop)---and there is a zipper to zip up from the bottom (skeg) to the place where the motor mounts to the transom. So you put this on, zip it up, then pull the elastic cord to tighten it up---and tie it.My motor is COMPLETELY covered and protected from the wind, rain, and SUN. When I took the boat out in April- I got to the lake and started it up---which was immediate when turning the key. However, no water was spraying out of the place where it comes out after circulating thru engine block----so I turned it off asap- and we went home. I found out- that some bees had got inside and made a nest in the hole- and tube where that water comes out. That meant no water could circulate thru the engine block- and it just came out from the prop- not good.After fixing that I put a golf tee in the hole- and covered it with the motor cover that came with the cabelas boat cover. The white/beige one in photos. I am showing you this so you can see that most motor covers only cover the top half of the motor---the place where the water comes out (where the bees went in) is half covered/half not---as its right on the bottom of the cowling (top cover) of the motor.So this covers the entire motor- keeps the bees, mice, birds, and SUN off my motor. It also keeps the daily dust storms (this time of year) and any rain or hail---its protected. I love this---its a great buy- well made, and an excellent idea.It fits snug and secure- you could even tow the boat with this on---I always lower my motor because it interferes with the boat cover---but I could fix that if I wanted to tow it with the cover (both boat and motor) in place.Regardless of whether you tow with this on your motor or not- its a GREAT item, and I STRONGLY encourage you to get one. If it prevents the bees from making a nest (mud daubers) then you will save a few hundred dollars- of time and frustration--we went to lake and turned around--wasted 1/2 day- and I spent another 2 hours fixing that. good luck.

I have a Mercury 90 4-stroke Command Thrust and this size fit the motor perfectly. The Command Thrust has the same size lower unit as a Mercury 150, so I bought a size up from the recommended for 90 and it was a good choice. Very pleased with this product.
