Be careful of inaccurate reviews of this good jacket
I would just like to start off by saying that this jacket fits well and there are some reviews that I have read giving it a low amount of stars and saying that the pockets aren't real.Perhaps they got a defective jacket but all of the pockets on mine are functional and real.It is pretty durable and water seems to bead off of it although I imagine like anything water will get through eventually especially if you're swimming with it.The fleece interior is very warm and comfortable.I see in other reviews as well that they mentioned the zipper is on the "wrong" side. The zipper mechanism is on the left hand side instead of the right hand side which really doesn't matter to me it functions I am not concerned with zipper etiquette. Some people are led to believe that this is a woman's jacket because the zipper is on the left, well I've seen soft shell jackets for women as I bought some for my partner and they are usually pleated around the upper chest and armpit area to allow room for breasts. This jacket is not pleated in such a way so I would say that's wrong.Although women can wear the jacket I'm just saying it does not possess that pleat that allows extra room for lady partsI would love if this had an attachable Hood as it does not the hood is permanently attached but can be rolled away although I'm not sure why you would want to anyway but you can you have options. That does not detract from the quality of the jacket in any way as it is not stated as having a removable Hood so there's no reason to deduct a star for that. This jacket will keep you warm it will keep you protected and it looks good. It's true to size as far as I can say and the material is satisfactory. It does have pull cords within to adjust the fit of the jacket as well as the hood and in other reviews I have taken note that they report their jacket not having retention clasps for the chords but mine does.Again I don't know if they got it defective jacket or if this jacket has changed and the company has fixed the issues. But that being said my jacket is complete and it has everything the bad reviews say it does not so quite happy with it.

Good looking, and comfortable jacket.
Needed a jacket to go hiking a couple weeks ago (hiked the Smokey Mountains) and went with this one. Very Comfortable, and all around a really good jacket.I would say size up 1 size. I initially bought a Large, and had to exchange. It was a little too tight for me. Went with a XL and I’m happy with the fit. Maybe even a XXL would have been nice. But overalll a really good jacket.

It's Weird.......but stood up to the test
I live in Montana and bought this for late fall thru early spring working outside. I have also used this for hiking during those times. I put this jacket through -20F to 45F in rain, snow, wet snowy rain, wind and sunshine. Bottom line is I liked it more than I didn't and for $40 I'm happy. BTW I bought the Army green version. If you are thinking about buying this, I feel like this is important to know:1 - It's a softshell outer jacket - Not a winter coat. It is parka style meaning it comes down below the buttox and has 2 zippers on the front.2 - It's not waterproof - It is water repellant and did a good job in wet snow keeping me dry on a daily basis. It dried out fairly quicky when hung by a fire.3 - It's a really weird coat!PROS:Looks awesome!Lots of zippered pockets (which is also a con)Sleeve length was perfect and the bottom didn't rise up above my waist when reaching overhead.Loved the construction of the hood with the reinforced bill and the adjustable straps for both the hood and bottom of the jacket. The armpit zippers is why I bought this in the first place!Very thin layer of fleece on the inside.Snowshoeing at -10F with a base layer and the arm pit zippers open, I was plenty warm! Which is what I was looking for in jacket.CONS:The fit was off for me. Not by a lot, just a really small portion that didn't warrant ordering a larger size because then it would be way to big. It was tight in the shoulders and arms were super tight. No way you are getting cell phone in any of those arm pockets.Zippers are not seam sealedNo stretch to the materialVelcro cuff tighteners - yeah.....I don't see that lasting in the rain for more than a couple years. Not for hunting - this is the noisiest jacket I own! It is loud when you move!If you wear a short sleeved shirt under the jacket you can feel the cold armpit zippers on your inner arm.WEIRD:The elbows or perhaps forearms have a reinforced outer layer. But it doesn't come to the elbows on me or completely cover my forearms (for when I am crawling I guess?)It has these 2 inner pockets? Or for some other purpose that I can't figure out because it is not sewn on the bottom (see pic) So it stores nothing. You have these random weird velcro patches on the bottom of the jacket and back of the hood that I have no idea what they are for.I am guessing the weird velcro pocket on the inside of the hood is for you to roll up the hood, but why would you?Zippered back pockets - I can't even reach them! Not even sure what the purpose of them being there is other than to transport gear which I wouldn't do because the coat is not fully waterproof. Might be good for storing some cans of beer though on a hike.Inner cinching strings for the hood run along the inner coat into the kangaroo pockets. Easy to get this caught or torn (see pics)The jacket is weird, but it has worked well so all is good.

Great Jacket
You know when you buy something and you get to say…I got a great deal. That is this jacket. I’ve had it in the wind and in the Thailand monsoons and I stayed warm and dry. Is comfortable, sized right, and has great zippers. As good or better than some REI or Columbia items I own. My only bitch is the somewhat strange pull cord system but thats’s minor compared to the rest of the jacket….and it looks good on.

Water resistant, maybe waterproof, definitely not.
While I do like the jacket for its comfort and warmth, waterproof it is not, not by a long shot! It resists a light rain fine but anything like a real rain shower and you will be drenched. And before you ask, yes the vents were zipped closed. At one point I even had to loosen the wrist cuffs to let the water out.

Cant go wrong for the price point
For the 50-60 USD price, its hard to go wrong. May not be as well built as the 400 USD name brands. I will update after some hard use. Being utalized for a contract/duty jacket. When doing remote and contract medical / safety work. I got an XL, so i can layer a tight fleece under it.
