Beginner’s guide to cake decorating book review.I have always enjoyed baking but always stuck to basic recipes – partly due to time. However, recently I have had more time and wanted to try something new.Not wanting to get ahead of myself I wanted something easy and simple to follow. This little book was perfect for that. It provides basic cake recipes, tin size guides, step by step instructions with handy pictures, and templates at the back of the book so you can easily recreate what you see.The book provides something for all occasions. Children’s themes to celebratory cakes. It even shows you what equipment you will need to make each cake.Finally, it gives full instructions on a variety of decoration ideas, from royal icing to chocolate.It’s a great book to start with and to grow with as you get more confident. Excellent value for money!

I purchased this book as I am have recently started baking as a hobby and needed a basic guide to show me how to do things easily! This book is fantastic for novice cake makers, gives you cake recipes that are simple and easy to follow, basic techniques for decorating etc! It made life so much easier when i recently decided to make a cake for my mums 60th birthday, particulary as I had never used ready to roll icing and did not have a clue where to start!I had looked at other books but they made everything seem complicated and were quite expensive, this book ticked all of the right boxes for what I needed and was reasonably priced/

Not what I expected, it's not an easy guide for me as a total beginner but probably ok once I have learnt the basics

I brought this book as a gift for a friend, she is new to cake decorating and is happily using the book for ideas and is enjoying experimenting with different types of icing . She loves it and is definetly progressing fast after using this book. She would definetly recommend it. A bargain price too.

Easy to follow instructions.

Bought as a gift for a learner to decorating and it seems to cover most types of decorating. Very pleased with this book.
