Works as intended
Used these to complete a knife handle project... came out fine, looks great... got the brass version ..

Soft yellow brass. Easily sanded to fit knife handle contours.
Threads are a little loose but overall I made it work. I used loctite to ensure they would stay in place.

Incorrectly made
Do not buy these. The problem is that the threaded hole that accepts the threaded stud is drilled way too deep so that when the heads are sanded off to be level with the handle, the hole is exposed on one side. The male screw works correctly and leaves a nice, smooth, appearance on its side but sanding the other side exposes a hole that has been drilled entirely too deep. I re-handled three knives from a small pairing knife to an 8" chef's knife and it happened on every "rivet". It ruined the work and I drilled them out and started over. Of course, you don't find this out until the new handles are glued and screwed together, making it even more frustrating. Complete garbage.

The female side is WAY over drilled
The first time i purchased these, they were excellent exactly what I expected. They worked great for my application. Which does involve sanding them down quite a ways so they look more like pins than screws. The second time I purchased these, they were much different the diameter of them was larger (not too big of a deal). The problem presents itself when they get sanded down. The female side the hole is easily twice as deep as the threads are. So when sanded down it reveals what looks like pipe not a pin. Only reason they got 3 stars is because the first order was perfect, and the 2nd order of them ended up being a project ruining experience. 3 stars is the average of both purchases.
