This thing is in fact a guitar pickup. Installed very easily into the pickguard of my build, works no problem. Not a whole lot of noise. The tone knob is very subtle and the volume is really more of an off/on type of thing. But it's the cheapest thing available if you don't want to deal with electronics. It's a pickup. It works.

Are used it for a DIY kalimba thumb heart sound comes through nice and clean down the volume knob does not do much nor does the tone Took a while to get here

For what it is, this is the best prewired humbucker you will find in this price range.
