French Brie - 2 pound (2 pound)

Gotta love it!
First - it's actually 2.2 pounds, not just 2 pounds. The price is amazing for true French Brie. It was shipped Fedex overnight. It arrived in perfect condition. Now, reading through some of the reviews, I feel I should clarify some things about French Brie. It is very sensitive to temperature. It goes through several stages of ripeness. If it still has white areas on the inside (the outside is always white), it isn't quite ripe enough for anyone's taste, it's not creamy yet and kind of bland. Once there are no more white areas, most people will like it, it is like the packaged Supermarket Brie you commonly find. Then the inside gets slightly more yellow and the wedge will bulge out on the side. This is perfection to all who like it mild flavored and soft ripened. From there on out, it keeps getting funkier. The flavors get stronger and stronger. There are aficionados for all the funky stages also, this is an acquired taste. I had fun acquiring it. :) Now, a shipment from France has a long way to travel and there is no exact prediction of how ripe the cheese will be on arrival. The cheese maker tries to achieve the "no more white areas inside" stage and no more, meaning that you may want to ripen it further at room temperature, just a wedge, under glass, so you can see when it bulges and has reached perfection. But - anything can happen regarding temperature exposure during shipping, so sometimes the cheese will arrive a bit funkier than you like. This one was perfect, leaving a wedge out for one day made it perfectly smooth and creamy. You can't beat the price and quality.

AWFUL!
Without question, the most atrocous tasting Brie I've ever had! Were it not for the hassle of having to return something that's perishable I would definitely send it back to you very dissatisfied

I Enjoyed Every Morsel!
I have to thank the Cheese Delicatessen for a great experience. After reading many of the previous negative reviews, I was expecting the worst. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. This Brie was shipped in a box carefully protected unlike anything I've ever seen! The cheese wasn't just well packed, it was cosseted in plastic encased thick strips of foam. I tracked it on the US Postal Service website to check how timely it was delivered to me. It arrived within 37 hours with its gel packs still very cold. The Brie's clear plastic package had no printing on it. Apparently, it was an Anonymous Brie. OK by me. I'm not a Brie connoisseur, but I thought the cheese was delicious. I just wish I had more! This is all true. I hope everyone has a Brie experience as happy as mine. Thanks, again, Cheese Delicatessen.

Delicious
The cheese was very good and arrived in good condition. The only negative thing I can say is that it took a fairly long time for it to arrive. If you order this you will not be disappointed with the product but make sure you allow for plenty of time to receive it.

Good value for brie cheese
This cheese to start of with was packaged very carefully. It was still very cool when it arrived and was well wrapped. It tasted like a "young" brie, it was a tad bit firm, and the flavor wasn't quite as ripened as some, but it is still very good, especially if you let it sit out at room temperature for an hour or so. I would certainly buy it again. It also shipped out right away and arrived a few days later.

NOT French Brie
No happy! It is made in the USA! Not enough ice for shipment, arrived soft and nearly coming out of the package. No idea if it still good. Even the label says keep refrigerated but they didn’t pack it with enough ice to keep it cold. Very angry! $52 for American made Brie? What a joke! Definitely false advertising!

This is good authentic Brie like you should expect
I eat a whole lot of Brie. This is a very good one, a real Brie, not a fake like I find at my local US supermarket.Common supermarket Brie is just not good. It's often too salty, not creamy and it's sometimes advertised as "triple crême" made in the US. There is no such thing as a "triple crême" Brie. If it's triple crême, it's not Brie. Brie means Brie, not a close or distant cousin usurping the name for marketing purposes and depreciating it at the same time. Advertising a cheese as Brie to end up with something else is deceitful. With this Brie, I got what I was expecting, and I will buy it again - nowhere else.
