Works better than name brands for far less $$$
I was not expecting a lot from this product, being a generic brand and one of the least expensive on Amazon. However, much to my surprise, it works really well. It has numbed my whole tooth and surrounding area (tooth behind it and in front of it, as well as my gums on both sides of the tooth). It has no discernable flavor to me. No mint, no bubble gum, nothing, which is nice.Facts are, it works great, lasts for much longer than name brands, and is far less expensive than name brands.I will buy again, if needed, and will definitely recommend to any in need of taking care of a toothache, such as my daughters and my grandchildren.Yes, 5 stars, which I RARELY dole out.

A Treasure that’s been around over 20 yrs
For a long time I saw this stuff all over my mom’s house! I knew she had dentures but never read the tube just assumed it was for her dentures! Well 3-5 yrs after my mom passed away I had my top 8 remaining front teeth removed; being the Vain woman that I’ve excepted I am I made sure the dentist had a already made top denture read to be placed before I left! Everything we fabulous! My only issue was I couldn’t eat solid food for a while or use tubed glue until my gums healed. Well after a cpl days I could no longer swallow soft food or soup because immediately it would come right back out! Frustrated I vented to a friend to which she replied “use the fixodent powder to eat it won’t require you to jeopardize the healing process and would allow me to successfully eat a actual meal so I did and WOWWW it worked after I was healed I used the tube glue because I prefer the lasting time of it to the powder being I constant drink throughout the day; not alcohol lol but water or soft drinks! Before I got my simi permanent liner I had some serious rubbing issues and omg that’s the most painful thing aside from toothaches and earaches so I remembered this stuff I had casually left in my moms purse when she passed because it reminded me of her when I’d grab the purse for comfort or reflection that was something she always had well although out dated a bit I tried a small amount and OMGGGG it was absolutely amazing and the pain was gone and sitting under my denture it offered extra cushion and complete pain relief!! It’s much thicker then toothpaste but not at all difficult to apply! You dry the area to which you need to apply it, one dry or simi dry apply a small amount (you don’t need a lot) and add your glue to denture or don’t depending on personal choice and you can remove any excess that come out when you bit down to secure teeth with a Cotten swab or Q-Tip!! Good luck and if you haven’t tried it go ahead you won’t regret it!!

Lifesaver
This stuff has been a life saver, I got dentures a little less then a month ago an it's been a nightmare. If I hadn't of found this stuff my worst days or pain from not 1, not 2 but at times up to 8 denture sores at once would've been absolute hell! Already time to buy a 2nd tube, it's definitely not a cream texture but more of a paste. So keep that in mind when going into the purchase of it. But it's really something that can help with pain that is caused by dentures. My dentist told me not to use it in my early days of healing but they're adjustments was just making the pain worse an the sores extremely worse. I needed relief so I used it anyways, so if your within days of your extractions ask if you can use it before doing so. Its a great thing to have in the medicine cabinet, an lasts for hrs!

Works well, but doesn't last very long
I used it for a sore created by my denture. The relief was awesome when I first put it on, it really does stick to the area placed and the pain relief was instant. However, the relief only lasts about 15 min, before needing to reapply to gain more relief. It has a medicinal flavor mixed with teaberry.

Very thick & good for dental pain
I bought this because I have Sjogren's disease & psoriatic arthritis which both cause SO many dental problems & a LOT of dental pain! I've used other benzocaine products but this one really is better by far! It has lasting relief that other products just don't have. You can see from the picture that it's super thick! That's an advantage because it helps with long lasting pain relief, longer than other products we've tried. Its great that it has such lasting relief. It does have a slight flavor, which IMO tastes ever say slightly like oil of clove, which is very often used for dental pain. But I don't see it listed anywhere on the tube. The cons of this product are few. First is that, if you happen to use too much, you'll have clumps of this in your mouth... And until you're used to it, there's a fine line between just enough and a bit too much. Go easy with this product and add more if needed after about 15 - 20 min.The other negative isn't about the product itself but the tube. I absolutely hate metal tubes. You can never get all the product out of the tube. IF THEY ARE GOING TO USE A METAL TUBE, THEY SHOULD ADD A FREE METAL TUBE SQUEEZER KEY! I had to buy a set to get all of the product!!! No Bueno! I vote for better packaging! I much prefer the little jars like the ones in which Hurricaine is packaged - another benzocaine product,(which does NOT last long!).The other thing I've used this for, (which it isn't recommended for but it definitely works) is on the very painful psoriasis on mom's hands! I just suggested it because we were quite desperate to get her relief. Although initially it stings, very shortly after applying the product she's fine. Too bad she can't soak in it!At the time of writing this we were waiting on lidocaine cream. We tried it and it did absolutely NOTHING.I'd say anyone with dental pain (or other pain) would really appreciate getting this, or at least being told about it! Frankly, I'm very surprised that dentists have never recommended this products. Read the label before using because there is at least one warning. I had no side effects.Highly Recommended!
