No complaints so far. Installation was quick and easy. I used a paint marker, an awl, a regular cordless drill with a 1/4" masonry drill bit, a #6-10 DuoPower Anchor and appropriately sized metal washers to mount it to Brick. It probably took less than 15 minutes once it was unboxed and I gathered the tools. This winder seems very sturdy and the build appears to be solid. It is a little heavier and maybe a little more compact than I expected it to be but in a good way and it is attractive to boot. This thing winds my hose with minimal effort and it was an actual joy to do on my first go. So much so that I ran the hose out and did it a second time. I have observed zero leaks but I have yet to put any real pressure on the connectors. I'll test it out with my power washer soon enough. It was -16% off at the time of my purchase which made it a pretty fair deal. Hose reel is well built and solid. I've had it for two years now and it still looks new. It is in direct Texas sunlight, but has no faded. Works great. I just ordered a second for the other side of the house.

I needed a new garden hose reel for my back yard as the old plastic ground-based reel fell apart. After plenty of research, I purchased this one. What an excellent choice. Very well made, super sturdy, and works like a charm. And, it looks great! Love the shelf on top, on which I store extra hose nozzles, the occasional water bottle while moving the lawn, work gloves, etc. In my case, I mounted it to a poured concrete wall using a carbide-tipped drill bit, hammer drill, and tapcon screws. It was really tough getting this screwed all the way in but well-worth it. The only issue, which they do address in their instructions and on the website, is that the leader hose may spin and knot/kink, when it is not supposed to. I shot a bit of silicone spray inside the mechanism which they suggest and all is now good. Pulling the hose out is a breeze. And to my pleasant surprise, reeling it back up is equally easy. I did not want the model that has the worm screw that makes the hose coil a certain way. Instead, I use my hand to guide it when reeling it in. I also selected this one since it is unlikely to rust (cast aluminum?). Love this hose reel, the way it looks, and how easy it is to pull out the hose and reel it back in! I highly recommend this.

This seems to be a solid, well made hose reel. In my 25+ years as a homeowner, I've had to replace 3 plastic hose reels. They simply do not hold up long term. The plastic starts to degrade and turn brittle. The metal ones may cost more, but they're worth the extra cost simply because they're more durable. This model of the Liberty hose reel appealed to me because it has the top shelf for holding nozzles, hand soap or other things. My only complaint, and it's very minor, Liberty does not include and mounting hardware. From their point of view, they have no way of knowing what type of surface the customer will be dealing with. You'll need different bolts/screws/anchors depending on your situation, especially if mounting on brick/stone/concrete.

This turned out to be perfect both visually and functionally. I have a heavy weight 75ft hose on it and it handles it with easy. The shelf it is topped with is just right for your hose attachments. The finish is attractive and tough. Beautiful vintage look on the side of my 124 year old farm house.

I had a similar version of this that sat on the ground that was made of plastic. After about a year it cracked and didn't work properly. Honestly I have gotten really annoyed with all of these cheap yard equipment items that just break after a year. This one was nice and sturdy made out of aluminum and has held up great. I use it with one of those fabric hoses and I think I have like 120 ft on it. My only suggestion is if you use these things really just go for the fabric hose as with those vinyl hoses their rigidity make it a little less usable and you can't fit nearly as much hose on it.It also rolls and unrolls really easily which is nice. The plastic one I had before took a bunch of effort to undo and you had to pull the hose directly perpendicular to it to get it to dispense. Not a problem with this unit. Just make sure you properly mount it to your wall with the appropriate anchors.

After using this for 4 years I thought I'd write a review for this hose reel. I'm very happy with this. It still works as good as when I bought it. I have read many reviews about people breaking the handle, etc. I suspect any problems with it breaking were due to misuse. I use this thing almost daily. Nothing has broken. One issue I did have was the small bolt that holds the handle on the shaft kept loosening. I just put some Loctite on the threads and it never loosened again. One feature that is very handy is the tray on the top. A good place to keep spare hose attachments. Very pleased with this purchase.
