For a Low Price Pen, This really is NICE!
As an avid pen "collector/user", a guy that has always enjoyed the "Art of Writing", I typically seldom buy a lower price ranged pen. In the past decade plus, I tend to buy in a range of $200-$800, (protect them carefully), but now and then want to try something in this price range, $25-$99 so that if I lose the pen its not a big deal. And lets face it, we all need a few to throw with our stuff and be a little carefree when out and about in public, etc. Which is where this pen has come in handy. Now when I want to do this, I STILL want a pen that is comfortable and preforms well. This pen is absolutely that!! I was VERY pleased with it when it showed up in the mail. I think I am a pretty good judge of pens and paper for that matter. The pen is not HEAFTY, but its not light, its on the lighter side of medium weighted but medium enough that it does not "feel cheap". Slimmer body than I am used to but I didn't find that a bother at all. I have medium sized hands and I'd say for men like me, or even women with medium/large size hands, you would find it a relaxing good fit and weight. And it writes rather well!I tried it on paper I have that is made in both USA and France. So it works well on pretty much a very wide ranger of paper. I can't say how it would do on cheap thin paper, simply because I really don't have that to test on. I am SUPER picky about paper, and don't compromise there. I would suspect it does quite well on all paper ranges. Of course most of us that are really picky (or just simply into writing), we all know better the paper better the pens ability to preform.Simply put, for this price range, you will NOT go wrong! The pen is also very nice looking and would be fine in any business environment. And like I said, if you lose this instead of a higher end pen, you are not out a lot of money. I really cannot see how anyone can go wrong. Last thing, yes, this would make a nice small gift for someone that enjoys writing. And for college kids as well. It presents fine. As for refills, I often use the Schmidt Refills that I use in my Visconti and Mont Blanc ballpoints, can't see why it would be any difference here. I have not "yet" done so, have just used what it came with. But plan to later. I believe this is the "Parker Style" refill, which is what most ball point pens are. Give the Schmidt Easy flow 9000 a try (sold on amazon) and you may be quite amazed!

Just like Gomer said, Surprise, Surprise, Surprise...
For the price point, this is a good pen. The quality is good, it feels good in the hand, it's just the right size, and not too heavy. It doesn't look cheap, it looks like a nice 'dress' pen. Many pens in this price range don't have that. It comes in a really nice box, with a spare refill, and an extra spring. NOBODY does that. I've been a pen aficionado for most of my life, I go to Pen Shows, and this is the first manufacturer to include an extra spring. Losing one is rare, but it can happen. You generally find it later, if it's not sucked up in the vacuum. But when it happens, it's a real good thing to have an extra. On top of that, that refill and spring comes in a proprietary sleeve to make it easy to store. The presentation speaks volumes, and for that, this is a good investment. And don't let it lay around, because someone WILL pick it up. Trust me. BUT... yeah, you knew that was coming...though this is nice-looking pen, I wouldn't consider this an EDC (everyday carry) pen. I had a similar pen from Sheaffer, that I use every day, and after a year or so, the vibrant finish starts to wear away. Mechanically it may be a workhorse pen, aesthetically, no. This would be a church pen, a date pen, a check-writing pen, I think you get my point. Consider this your fancy pen, when you want to impress someone. If you abide by that, this will last you a long time. These refills are branded, but are actually German-made P900 M Schmidt black medium (Parker compatible) refills, which you'll find here on Amazon, and are good writers. I may actually look at some other colors since this pen is so impressive. Buy this pen.
