A staple in my pantry. I use this coconut oil for making popcorn. It works well and is supposed to be much healthier than any of the "seed oils". I am not opposed to using the best choice (Olive Oil) except I don't really want my popcorn to have the mild taste of the Olive Oil, so I choose this. I could buy at the grocery store in a small jar for twice the price. So instead I buy this Mega Jar.

I actually use coconut oil for "oil pulling." I have had issues with my gums in the past and this has helped to make them healthier, so I do it every morning when I awaken by putting a spoonful in my mouth. I allow it to melt (which it does quickly) and then swish it around my mouth for 15 minutes. I dispose of it in the trash as the oil will clog sinks and toilets. This brand is great and seemed to be great value as well! My only concern is that it is less dense than the previous brands I purchased. That wouldn't matter, except that after getting into a portion of the top, I noticed a concavity below. I didn't check to see if the weight was accurate, but there is less in this jar than the previous one I ordered. The previous jar (different brand, same size and weight) lasted 4 months.

So in an attempt to get away from all seed oils that are toxic, coconut oil is my go to for any high heat cooking. My daughter, however, hates the taste of coconut.
