Non-existent customer service
Our club had a problem with this radio. Don't expect any warranty or service after the sale from this seller. I've done quite a bit of research and based on teviews found outside of Amazon they operate very deceptively with a large quantity of very negative feedback regarding their company. Buy from this seller with caution.

Excellent radio
After programming the radio using RT Systems, I was on the air pretty much within an hour. The radio has great sound and excellent clarity. Has some great features that are not present in some name branded radio's. I'm very pleased.

Radio works, enclosed programming cable does not.
I purchased this radio to replace a TH-7800 that is having issues, so I already have programming data files to (frequencies, offsets, etc.) to load into the new TH-7900. The enclosed programming cable with the new TH7900 is recognized by my computer, and I can check to see what comm port is being emulated, however communication between the radio and the PC fails. The old cable that I have from the problematic TH-7800 does allow the load of data to the new TH-7900, so I know this is a problem with the new cable enclosed TH-7900 packaging. Initial testing after the program load shows the radio is working, I will continue to test other features of the radio as time allows. It would be nice to recieve a new working programming cable.

Solid dual-band radio for the price – works great for off-road comms!
Just got back from a week-long desert trip with the TH-7900, and I’m impressed. I’ve used pricier radios before (Yaesu, Icom), but for casual off-roading and overlanding, this thing holds its own.The good:✔ 50W power is no joke – clear transmissions even in rocky terrain where my old 25W struggled✔ Dual-band is super handy – monitored local repeaters on UHF while our convoy chatted on VHF✔ Cable included (unlike some brands that nickel-and-dime you)✔ Surprisingly intuitive menu – had it programmed in 20 mins with the manualMinor annoyances:➜ Fan noise kicks on often at high power – not loud, but noticeable in a quiet truck cab➜ Mounting bracket feels cheap – I swapped it for a heavier-duty one from my old radio➜ Display backlight could be brighter for daytime usePro tip: Download the free programming software – way easier than manual entry. Also, the mic feels plasticky but survived my toddler yanking on it, so no complaints.Who this is for:Overlanders who don’t wanna drop $500+ on a name brandTruckers needing solid UHF performanceAnyone who hates radios with 100 confusing buttonsUpdate after 3 months: Survived dust storms and below-freezing temps. Zero issues. For ~$200? Absolute steal.(4.5/5 stars – knocked half a point for the bracket and fan noise)

Love this radio. Nothing but good things to say about it.
Bought this because it came up stupidly cheap here at $156, although since then it seems to be unobtainium.. Normal price is closer to $200 I think. You can't get a better deal on a removable face dual band. Audio isn't as good as my Kenwoods or Icoms but it's adequate. The side by side dual radio with dual controls thing is a breath of fresh air. After that you can't go back. I tend to have my favorite station on the right, and scan running on the left. Have since moved this from my base station to mobile and crimping cables was a piece of cake. Also easy to find 3D print STL files for face plate holders. Of the various offerings I think this beats the quad band TYT which seems to often have issues after a while. I would have bought another one if I could have found a decent deal, but then an Icom 2730A came up locally and I grabbed that for base. It's nicer - but it's double the price.

It ok
The radio itself is good. PEP on 2m = 52w and 70cm = 38w .. using a 1/4 wave, mag mount .. the only con is the mic .. the mic is preset for high gain and there is no way to cool it down .. this makes it sound like your is a barrel .. have tries different mics and get the same effect, tries a MK46 after installing a resistor .. Only who own this radio also complain about the same thing ,, Other operators can still understand you, but the clarity is not there .. I would not recommend this radio ..

Works for me
Radio arrived quickly. It works as advertised and is a good deal for the price. Programs easily with Chirp. Cross band repeat is easy to set up and works well. So far so good - if things change I'll update my review. 73Here I am again just over a year later. My screen is going dim on the right side of the display. Now I'm looking for customer service .... Customer Service contacted me! Asked me to send the radio back and they will replace it. Is that GREAT or what?? I sent it off today 4-5-22. I will update when it arrives.Update! The new replacement radio came in on time as promised! Great Customer Service!
