Assuming that you are asking about the use of headphones in a car audio application, the SSL4EQ can raise the pre-amp line-out voltage from the FM/CD/HeadUnit to 7 volts. A typical head-unit alone outputs from 2 to 4 volts. The voltage rise achieved can help audio quality because a stronger signal will better reproduce weak audio frequencies and background music which may be difficult to isolate and amplify down the line.Signal voltage rise would also produce rises in volume overall, and a good clean volume rise in bass frequencies.This all depends on clean, quality audio signals from the start. Only the button to change the color ....and the button to change to "aux" or "RCA" but the rest of them don't push in
