Drive failed…
The large drive just decided not to work, “no response “. I just purchased last September. I’m in the process of getting Toshiba to work with me (closed on weekends). Amazon will ‘extend’ and exchange for a 20% restocking fee. As if Amazon needs the extra $$$$$To be continued….

A much better option than a standard HDD.
Using this drive to store future videos that I will be creating. With about 9 TB (usable), it will give me plenty of storage space to work with.

1 of the 3 drives has failed. Is 13 months an acceptable lifespan for the N300 Pro 10TB drive?
Order for 3 Toshiba drives placed February 14, 2024. Received and installed in a RAID 5 storage device for OWC and running SoftRAID software. This week SoftRAID error messages: "2025.03.10 - 23:49:04 - SoftRAID Monitor: Starting SMART test on all disks which support SMART. 2025.03.10 - 23:49:05 - SoftRAID Monitor: Finished SMART test on all disks. No disks failed the SMART test. 2025.03.11 - 11:54:33 - SoftRAID Driver: A disk for the volume "RAID5" (disk8) encountered a write error (E00002CA). The disk (disk3, SoftRAID ID: 0A22A0C345718C80) was unable to write sectors. The error occurred at volume offset 3329059684352 (i/o block size 32768). This disk should be replaced.2025.03.11 - 11:54:49 - SoftRAID Driver: A disk (disk3, SoftRAID ID: 0A22A0C345718C80) for the SoftRAID volume "RAID5" (disk8) encountered multiple read or write errors. This disk has been marked "failed" and will no longer be used for when reading volume data." So, I have a failed drive that needs to be replaced. I will purchase another Toshiba drive and follow the steps necessary to swap out a drive in the RAID. Hopefully all goes well. Is 13 months an acceptable lifespan for the N300 Pro 10TB drive? I have no idea. As long as the drive replacement goes well and no loss of data due to the RAID 5 capabilities, then all is well. All to be determined in thr next week or two.
