Great deal 2 for 1 price
Easy to put together. Instructions could use some work though. Very pleased with the item thus far though I cant comment on the provided straps as I like to use my own.

GREAT! CAN WE BUY ONE METAL PLATE?
These racks are awesome! We used them last summer for a whole kayaking season. Good for what the price is. Just be wary that they will rust if you constantly leave them on the car. Reccommended to take them off each time, you just really need to put some muscle into it. ***We lost one of our metal plates is it possible to just buy one plate???***

You really need to wrench them down.
All in all works great.

Good enough for the price
Works just fine, the hardware does rust though but I take them off after use. It is very difficult to get them tight, also I wouldn’t recommend if you’re taking them on and off often.

Good Deal on this Kayak Rack
This is a well made, nicely finished and priced Kayak Rack kit. As configured out of the box, it may not work for thicker height crossbars on some truck racks because the 8mm carriage bolts supplied are too short (about 2-1/2 inches). I retro fitted mine with 5/16-18, 4 inch long carriage bolts (3-1/2 length would have worked too) to fit the crossbar (approx. 1-3/4 H, 2-3/4 W) on my Vevor branded adjustable height truck rack, which is thicker 'height-wise' than most car rooftop crossbars. The 8mm nuts inside the plastic T-handle wings can be pressed out and replaced with 5/16-18 nuts if you want to reuse them. 5/16-18 nuts are typically 1/2 inch across the flats and might be a little loose inside the T-wings, the 8mm nuts being a little wider across the flats, but a little silicon or glue should secure them. As a sidetone, I could not find any 8 mm carriage bolts locally that were long enough, thus the change. In summary, the ratcheting hook straps supplied work great and the other pull straps included make this a nicely supplied kit.

Not for thin teardrop shape rails
Short. I would not recommend. Pretrip test runs to a close pond was great. Even short trips at the camp ground we stayed work great. On a long haul I will never use them again.Long. Other than a few short pretrip tests we used one time on a long trip 600 miles round trip. Worked ok going until an bolt failure. Going just had to adjust a few time due to get the kayaks to track straight and limit vibrations wind noise. Return trip started with a loud wind vibration. Stopped several time tightening lines, checked nuts, taped a few holes, taped and tied extra line. This help some but still had a vibration. For a bit we were in two cars and the kayaks appeared very stable. Half way home one of the front rack had a bolt that was stripped and the other 3 bolt did not hold the rack and it slipped right pushed by the wind. No damage but had to stop quickly. Roadside had to tighten the other 3 bolts and hope it held for the last 120 miles. So now I have a rack I am struggling to get off. The kayaks weighted 48 single and a double that weights 70. Vehicle is a Nissan pathfinder and like most cars the front rack is wider than the back always make sure they are mounted straight.Pro tipget a ratcheting wrench.
