Great for simple jobs
I've only had this a couple of days but it's done what I wanted. I'm making a model train layout and some of this is being done in the kitchen when it's wet or too dark outside. I wanted something strong enough to drill through 2" wood and which won't make loads of noise. It was smaller and lighter than I expected - much smaller than my previous 7.2v Black & Decker drill and just a bit bigger than my Bosch electric screwdriver - but has so far done the job just as well. It says that the speed can be adjusted by how far you press the button down but I found very little difference between it being "just pressed" and "fully pressed." It acts as a screwdriver (and has a flat/crosshead attachement included) but is strong enouugh to get through the wood and plywood I am using. I've not tried it on hardwood, so can't comment on this. It's USB charged and I only needed to charge it for about an hour when I took it out of the box to get it fully charged, and I used it on and off for a couple of hours before charging it ready for the next day. I used it, again on and off, for about 4 hours today and it has lasted without a problem. I am pleased with it so far, especially as it didn't cost a fortune.

A little cracker!
This is a small and light drill/driver. Takes on most household jobs with ease. Flat pack furniture is no problem, piloting wood and screwing a doddle. Plenty of charge for an afternoons work. This is my second one, the first lasted over 10yrs. It wasn't the drill that packed in but the charger, that has been changed on the current model so I couldn't get a replacement. This is the ONLY 7.2 volt drill on the market, and that is such a sweet spot in terms of power vrs weight.A cracking piece of kit!!

Great for moderate to light DIY tasks... don't confuse this with the 18v volt one.
First do not confuse this with the 18v drill (with the hammer action). In short, this is Black and Decker, reasonable performance that won't break the bank. As long as they is what you expect, you won't be disappointed.I bought this to help with a 4m x 4m garden deck I was putting together. Initially, I drilled and screwed together using it. Yep, It'll drill into Pine CLS 4x2 and put a 100mm screw in. It'll do that about 50 times before the battery is flat. In the end, I used a mains drill for pilot holes and this to put the screws in.The motor is lively and no sparks here from mine. What this is good for: It's light, it does have a good clutch and variable speed on the trigger. It's got plenty of torque on a decent speed motor. The forward/reverse can be selected while gripped. The chuck is certainly durable but it is a screw-thread not a ratchet one -what do you expect for 30 quid?In all, it's perfect for light to medium DIY tasks like flat-pack furniture and screwing wood together. It works well as a drill for pilot holes. I didn't try it on masonry, I think I'd use my mains drill for that though. The small box of B&D of drill bits and drivers is recommended too - they are tough and the HSS drill bits were up to drilling clean through 6mm sheet metal. The posidrives are good, they did fit correctly.

A great tool for 90% of my drilling needs
This is remarkably cheap for a battery-powered drill, and so far I really can't fault it, particularly for the price. I have an old (20+ years?) corded drill and I was loath to spend money on a new one while the old one still works, but I've really glad that I did. It's easier to change bits with the keyless chuck, and this has more control for driving screws than my drill, although ultimately it has less power and no hammer function, so my old drill will still have its uses.As a tool to keep handy which can be used quickly anywhere and will fulfil a good 90% of my drilling / driving needs, though, this is great.

Perfect for Light Jobs
Laughing lots at some of the "reviews" from people moaning about the drill being useless for heavy duty work. What on earth did you expect, people? The description more than makes it obvious that it's not designed or built for that. :DBought this to replace another ageing B&D drill that my son "borrowed". This is virtually identical other than it has a far superior battery, but didn't cost very much more than the old one did several years ago. Add in the handy wee LED light and the fact it's great for small LIGHT jobs, and it's a winner for me. My lad can keep the old one.The only very slight niggle is, there's no clip to store the reversible driver bit, which the other drill had. A minor issue, but it was a useful feature that meant I still had the original bit years later. Black & Decker, take note.

Great drill/screw driver unit
Bought this really for when we are caravanning in the summer to put the legs down as it's quicker and easier. Having said that it has been used a few times around the house already as it is easier to get than the big drill and it gets into corners (hubby just put up a new venetian blind and it had to go into the corner to match up with the one on the other wall) he was dreading trying to get the holes drilled in such a tight space plus the screws in place too, but it was real easy with this. Well pleased. Well worth the money.

Neither a drill nor a screwdriver
Neither fish nor fowl, this tool is neither a good screwdriver (too fast, no clutch to stop you stripping your screwheads) nor an adequate drill (too slow). No speed adjustability makes this device a cheap and cheerful tool, but you might be better off spending a few more bucks for variable speed drills with a clutch. At this price you should not expect hammer drill capability and this tool lives down to those expectations. On the plus side, it has decent torque for a small 7.2v drill, but the lack of a clutch reduces its usefulness. It also appears to have a USB charging connector, which implies you can use a range of chargers, but I have not put that to the test, so don't rely on that.Useful as a backup drill (I bought it for that purpose), but not much else. Just worth three "acceptable" stars for that purpose.
