Fantastic match, worked well on my 2013 Sky Blue CX-5
Fantastic match, worked well on my 2013 Sky Blue CX-5. Lot of bad reviews on wrong paint colors/codes being received here, but turned out well for me. I think you just need to check your car thoroughly and be sure about color name/code. Judging by my experience, I'd buy this again. I had a butt load of nicks and chips in my car that I never noticed before, and if you are meticulous with this pen you'll get great results. I can't even see my chips anymore (unless I get up super close or look with a magnifying glass. Here's what I did for anyone who may find this out of the realm of their skills:0. TEST YOUR PEN on the edge of something disposable, let dry, and put against your car to make sure it's the right color1. shake the pen for a full minute2. on each significant chip, look carefully (even with a magnifying glass) to look for rust3. if there is rust, use a fine-tip file to gently scratch away rust without making the chip too much larger4. wipe clean with rubbing alcohol5. depress tip into chip while squeezing the sides of the pen gently to get enough paint to fill the surface area of the exposed metal6. blow the paint blob a little, if necessary to remove any bubbles7. if the paint is a little too thick, a small fine paint brush works well to smooth it out (but do so quickly in the beginning before it starts to dry)8. to be cautious, leave the car inside/protected for a couple hours to a day so the paint has time to fully dryProviding your paint is the right color, this should work out in your favor if you have the time and patience.

Scratch repair and sealant
This paint pen was a perfect color match for my blue mazda (look for the paint number on sticker inside front car door), and has saved my car for many more years of winter abuse. After the last snow last April I severely scratched the paint finish on my car using a shovel to get a foot of heavy wet snow off my car. Bad idea. It looked like a wildcat had a dance party on the top, hood, and sides of the car. The paint pen filled ALL the scratches, and there’s still some left for future scratches. Great product!

What you receive will not look like item in photo.
Touch Up paint does come from a dealer and is packaged with Mazda logo and color code, in my case 38R so it is a color match. The problem is the applicator itself, its fine on horizontal surfaces like the hood or roof but if you use it vertically like on doors or hatch not so much. on these surfaces you have to push down on the tip and squeeze the tube to much pressure an the paint will run, and since I could not unscrew the cap I could not apply with a brush. When all is said and done the most important factor was that the color was a match!

Color code matched just fine. People call it a pen but there is ...
Product pictured was not what was received. Color code matched just fine. People call it a pen but there is nothing wrong with the ball point applicator part. It is however missing the clear coat to be a more industry standard touch up kit. But this *is* Mazda! The cars that come with half a coat of clear coat right out of the factory! Because a few more passes in the paint booth would cost a few more bucks to manufacture! Cheap and cruddy is the norm... so why wouldn't I expect a sub-par touch up kit?

Horrible!!! Didn't match at all.
I bought this to cover up one scratch on my Mazda 3 and the paint was very orange compared to my paint. Good thing I put a drop on it before painting the whole scratch or I would have had a orange line running down my red car. And i know some of you are saying you just didn't shake it up enough but I shook it up for 10 minutes prior to putting it on. And yes I checked twice to make sure that I got the right color. My car's color, from the sticker in the driver side door said that my car's color is A4A True Red. The paint just didn't match.

Great tool
This works really well. Kind of like a ball point pen for paint that you can control the flow. There's a tiny rounded metal pin inside the tip that gets pressed in and allows the flow of paint when you touch it to the surface. Its a squeeze type container, so the harder you squeeze, the more paint flows out.Great for pin point control, probably not as good as a brush type touchup for chips 3/16" or larger, but you could always apply it then brush it out with a kids water color brush.I'm really happy with it...I had to fill about 150 tiny chips... I think someone parked a running lawn mower on a gravel pile next to this car. It made the job easy, and the match as decent as a single stage touch up can be on two stage paint (base/clear)

stopped the spreading paint chipping
The corner of my door was chipping away and I delayed fixing it so it continued to spread. Not I have a 4" exposed patch.I used this around the edges to stop the chipping and it worked great. It went on thick enough to seal the edges of my flaking paint to stop the flaking. I didn't cover the entire 4", I just wanted the flaking to stop, so, for whatever that is worth, that's what I did and it worked like a charm.

Mix and stir with a small brush first to "even" out the color and thickness.
Works great and is a genuine color-match to my 2006 Galaxy Grey Mazda.Avoid the first few drops as it has a copper/purple sheen to it.I didn't have good luck with the built-in "pen" applicator. It worked better when I squeezed out a fair bit and stir/mix then apply with a small paintbrush, like you're doing a watercolor painting.
