Timely delivery...
Timely delivery and wonderfully substantial bread. So nice to bite into real rye bread that is not soft and gummy and overly processed. The Lithuanian rye has a small amount of sugar in it that disguised the rye taste. I liked the European rye better, without the added sugar.

There's a Couple of Issues I'd Like to Address
Firstly, I had no expectations of getting artisan breads. Even if an artisan bread, you put it in a plastic bag, and it is artisan no more. (The moisture equals out over the whole loaf when in plastic.) But, I did expect German grocery store grade. (It's a commercial grade type bread...even if sourdough rye.)That said, the first thing I noticed odd was the size of loaf to weight ratio. The loaves are smaller than their weight says they should be. So, a cut into a loaf told me what I needed to know. On the one side I saw mostly lots of extremely small bubbles, but too few bubbles, with only a few larger. This tells me that the dough was not allowed to rise long enough, but also not kneaded often enough. As in, the small bubbles should have been roughly twice the size. And also, the larger bubbles should not begin to appear until the dough had actually been let rise almost too long (lot of artisan go for this though in sourdough breads).A bite test then told me two things. Firstly was a bit of burnt taste. Not extreme, but there. About the same amount as I would expect from an authentic German-made pumpernickel bread. (I also saw that the bread, for the contents it has, was too dark in color.) Second thing I noticed (and expected after seeing the bubble formation), was how dense the bread is. Even with a bread, packed in plastic for days, the inside of the bread should be spongier than the crust. This was not the case. It could be for lack of time rising and kneading, but it could also be from over baking... or both. Therefore I have to say this; It looks like someone is trying to Americanize traditional European breads, without the knowledge base enough to know, where corners can be cut, or if they can't. I've had breads before from this company, that met my approval, so please go back to doing things the traditional way.

Fabulous taste
The product (European rye bread and Lithuanian rye bread) arrived a day earlier than estimated, which was a nice surprise. The loaves were in great shape and the taste is phenomenal. The Lithuanian rye, which is the only one I've sampled so far, brought back fond memories of my time in the Baltics. And kudos to whoever designed the packaging. The picture of Trakai Castle on the Lithuanian rye transported me mentally back to the quaint streets of Trakai with its brightly colored wooden houses. I'll definitely purchase again.
