Works fine as far as I know
Clearly with something like this, you can't be absolutely certain that it's giving an accurate reading. However my doc seems to accept what it's showing so that's enough for me. I was asked to take readings just as part of a general health check and not because there was a perceived issue. It's quite easy to use, although getting the bit you wrap around your arm can be a bit of a faff since there's loads of velcro that keeps sticking before you've got it properly in place. The instructions I read from the surgery state that several readings should be taken since they will slowly even out after two or three. I definitely found that to be the case, I guess because when you start you've probably just been doing things so it takes a while for your body to relax. I believe you can store the readings but since I was taking several readings at a time I simply wrote them down so never used that feature. The display shows the reading with either a red, amber or green background (no need to describe what they mean). The numbers are large and unambiguous. There's the usual two readings for blood pressure (which don't mean a lot to me, although I believe that over 140 on the top one isn't great). There's also a heartbeat rate reading.I've been using rechargeable AAA batteries (you need 4) which this unit seems to think is low (it almost always shows 2 bars instead to the maximum 3 even with fully charged batteries), however I was asked by the doc to take morning and evening readings for a week, and as mentioned earlier, two, three sometimes 4 even 5 readings at a time. The battery level remained at the 2 bars for the entire time so it seems battery usage is pretty good.Overall this unit is quite cheap and if it's something that can help avoid future health issues then that's good enough for me.

Genius little device.
This blood pressure monitor is absolutely fit for purpose. It gives an accurate reading until the batteries start to deplete but that's an easy fix. The instructions are very clear and simple to follow with markings on the cuff to help the user line up with the correct placement. Excellent value for money.
