Worth the money
Definitely worth the money. Had an issue with the first motor and they sent me another with no hassle. Did the 10hr break in. Runs great. Starts extremely easy. Pushes my 14ft Lund at 18 with just me and 14-15 with a passenger. Roughly 22 hours on the motor now. Would recommend to a friend.

It's well built
As of right now it's worth the money done research on it turns out it's a tohatsu boat motor and you can buy the parts for it thru there website I will be taking it out and breaking it in about middle of March or so and am very excited for the purchase.

Great Deal
Great motor for the price. It runs better than I expected. I followed manufacturers break in instructions. I am at the end of that period. It has worked great starts easy and moves my 10' inflatable dingy with ease. Does about 20 mph and jumps on plane with two adults. It seems comparable to motors more than 2x the price. the parts may be a little less durable but time will tell. I did break one of the plastic handles you use to tighten the motor to your boat. I probably overtightened it, but I was able to use a scrap aluminum piece to replace it.

Well worth the money
Have put about six 6 hours on it so far, and I love it. Pushes my 14ft vbottom to about 22 mph. Starts super easy. My old engine was a 6hp evenrude, now twice the power and 30lbs lighter. I definitely recommend this engine. A 9hp of any big brand will run you at least 3k.

The worst experience I've ever had buying anything in my life - And the motor is terrible
First, the motor was delivered and it was destroyed. Literally in pieces. I wrote Amazon and the seller agreed to send a new one. The new one came about a week later and it wasn't destroyed which is about the only good thing I can say. After putting in lower unit oil, I started it using the 25:1 mix they recommend in a barrel. It was bogging down like crazy and shutting off. It ran for about 15 minutes total. Got it running again and it ran for about an hour. I decided to mount it to my boat and take it out on the water the next day. At the doc, after about 30 pulls (no joke), it started and stalled. Then another 15 pulls or so, it started and ran. I puttered around my harbor staying within 100 yards of the dock for about 10 minutes. The engine was revving by itself then dropping back to idle. I made it back to the dock, brought it home and decided to look around a bit. Everything looked ok so I decided to idle it in the barrel some more. Black sludge was pouring out of the motor into the barrel. I shut it off and just went inside extremely frustrated. I go out about an hour later and it won't start no matter what. I pull the plugs, do a compression test and the compression is 40 on both. Complete junk and completely useless. Now I'm fighting with Amazon and some random Chinese company for a refund of $900. They're giving me an extremely hard time and will most likely have to go through my bank.Save yourself the headaches. Unless you get extremely lucky AND you're a marine mechanic, I'd go and buy a used motor off marketplace or something similar. This is a complete waste of time, effort, energy and money.

I've had this 18hp for mor that 2 years now and it still fires up with my left arm saving my shoulders I loved it so much I bought another to have for a project boat The only issue I've had is the fuel filter cracked. And I had to pay for a $12 replacement. Not too bad, really.
