Good item
Asus is a Taiwanese computer manufacturer. I have been using this company's products for 20 years. I think that this company's products can be defective just like other companies' products. I have been using Samsung's m2 2280 in the product I recently purchased, and so far there have been no major problems. However, a specific port on my recently purchased HP Ellie 800 G9 does not recognize the cut. I have not yet confirmed whether it is a problem with the PC, the SSD, or the enclosure. I will continue to test and add a review if the problem occurs in this enclosure.

ASUS quality is worth the extra $$$
I have tried cheap NVMe enclosures with very little success. Not the case with this ASUS. I have two of them (a black and a white) and they both took 2TB drives with ease and their speed does not slow down the drives. One drive reads at nearly 7000 MBps and the slower drive reads at 3500 MBps (the drive's limit). It has futuristic looking lights that slowly change color while it's plugged in. It does get a little warm, but that's a good thing for your drive. Take it from me, cheap enclosures are a crapshoot - spend a few extra bucks and save yourself headaches. Actually, you'll probably save money because you won't have to keep buying cheap ones over and over.

Great M.2 enclosure with RGB
I already had owned the black version, my boss purchased the white version for me to use for my job. Also ordered a 1 TB M.2 to put in this unit. Please Note it does not come with any storage, that is a separate purchase. I was really wowed by this unit. The white is quite stunning. Installation is a breeze as it supports all the standard sizes 2280 and below. So I bought one for myself. When you open the unit with the included pin tool (Same as you would get with a cell phone for sim cards)There is one thumb screw with a notch to secure the M.2. Super easy to install. The drive has to be initialized first, so if you're using and existing M.2, I would recommend backing it up first before installing it.It also has built in thermal pads.Transfer speeds were great, of course this is dependant on the M.2 model. I used a 4TB Teamgroup model.I highly recommend this unit. And almost forgot, it has RGB.

Sweet design great heat disapation.
Im now ordering the white ones, have several black. Reason? The solid aluminum fit really dissipates the heat from top to bottom, and the looks could only come from ASUS at their height, before the last 2 years of quality issues. Their look and lighting is unmatched in a cyberpunk/ scifi design. Only the newest fan cooled hub SSD cases seem better.

You can edit 4k videos off this thing although the RBG lights are annoying
I got the base model of the Mac Mini M4 and needed more space (buying more space from them costs SOOO much), and needed to get a fast enclosure to pair with my Crucial P3 4TB that is 5000mb/s SSD. I just have to say this has been working perfectly. I create Youtube videos and have been editing with Davinci Resolve right off the SSD and have had zero problems. I also have some LLMs locally and keep the model files on the drive and haven't had any problems there either. On some occasions when I am doing heavy work off the SSD, it does get a bit warm to the touch, but not hot. The enclosure itself is metal, very nicely constructed, has a good heft to it and it was easy enough to install the SSD into the enclosure. I also appreciate that they have a white color option for it, as a lot of my gear is white. My only complaint is that it does light up with rotating pastel colors and I don't think you can turn it off. It's annoying, but I guess it helps light up the way on the bathroom in the middle of the night.

Some connectivy problems, but Very sharp looking and Capable enclosure.
Very nice looking case, I was pleasantly surprised that it came with a rubberized case since it will be bumping around my book bag going back and forth from school and works perfectly with my 2TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD. It does have some problems connecting to my phone (Samsung S23+), it sometime fails to recognize it as storage device and tries to charge it instead, but otherwise it connects to my windows 10/11 and Linux PC's without any issues. It is plenty fast for executing apps directly from the drive--but not reliably being detected by my phone is really annoying because I use it to backup photos and large files.I did attach a USB adapter to the cord (UGreen makes a really good one) because not everyone has converted over to USB-C yet..

Great color and lighting
I have a black version of this, getting another one to access spare NVME SSDs or use as back up device.Pros:1 - Two available colors2 - USB C and A cables included3 - Fast data connectionsCons:No way to really keep the both cables together with the device, would be nice to have a manufacture case to keep accessories together. Not a Pro or Con, requires a pin key to open the device. Extra thing to keep track of.
