This bookcase was very easy to assemble; especially with a cordless drill. The unit as a whole seems pretty sturdy especially for it's price point. The back is made of flimsy material, but they provide instructions and tools to help steady it a bit.I only have 2 cons with this unit. One of the corners came messed up, but luckily it is bottom corner so doesn't affect the look of the unit and is small enough it doesn't affect the balance. The other issue I had with the unit was in the instructions on how put it together. The illustration for step 3 indicate that the screws go in the outer 2 holes on both sides; but they actually go in the INNER 2 holes. I tried to follow the instructions at first but then realized if I did the nails would stick out and the unit pieces would not lay flush to each other.I have a small odd wall space that this unit fits into perfectly! Exactly what I was looking for to help organize my makeup. Birchbox boxes and ipsy bags fit with just a little overhang.

I understand you get what you pay for, but Ive spent half a much for a better product. I chose this because I needed a narrow shelf to fit in a small space.The shelf doesnt even stand on its own, it leans forward and has fallen over a few times. Its not safe to put anything on it. Its assembled fine and all aprts are snug, but its very flimsy. Stickers are also on the putward facing panels - never seen that before and is very sloppy.

I never leave reviews but in this case I felt compelled to leave one. Let me start by saying I've been looking for a shelf for weeks to house my game collection and my criteria for a shelf was a bit outlandish to say the least. I needed something that didn't take up too much space but at the same time had a lot of space on it, quite ridiculous now that I'm seeing it written out. I also needed the shelf to have many shelf's on it and I needed/ wanted the space between the shelves to be no more than 6 inches and no less than 5. Then finally I needed this unicorn of a shelf I was looking for to be affordable or preferably cheap if possible. My search was running thin and I was on the verge of giving up until I came across this diamond in the rough. It was exactly perfect in every way I needed it to be almost too good to be true, then I read the reviews.... About 80% of the reviews we're just completely trashing this thing. Calling it junk, useless, not worth the money, anything you can think of. Honestly I felt like I could relate to this shelf. I thought about it for about a day maybe less then decided well if this thing does suck I guess I can just return it, I mean it's super cheap anyway. I just got it today and I love it so much, I couldn't of found a more perfect shelf for what I needed. Now that doesn't mean it is the perfect shelf period, it just means it's perfect for what I need it for. I can see how it wouldn't be suitable for some who need something more sturdy or bigger or whatever the case may be. But like I said I needed a shelf for a certain size of box for the games I have and this shelf rose to the occasion. This thing is the definition of 'you get what you pay for' but it meets every need on my impossible checklist. So with all that being said it is a great shelf for me but that doesn't mean it didn't come with some issues, albeit minor, but issues nonetheless. It does have trouble staying upright sturdy but they give you stuff to help with that. The directions could have been a bit more straightforward but I was able to get the job done so it's okay. Other than that I really don't have too much to complain about at the moment. I posted a few pictures to show how perfect it is for what I need. In closing just make sure you double triple quadruple check all specs dimensions length width everything before you purchase otherwise you're gonna have a bad time

Completely perfect for my needs. I ended up buying a second one because I loved it so much. It fits my DVD collection and video games nicely. It looks very pretty. I can see why some people might find this unsteady but I found it to be nice and sturdy.For people who are worried about it being too flimsy there are a couple of tips that I use putting together this type of furniture which might be helpful. I put wood glue in between the pieces when I am putting them together. I also buy extra of the short nails and add them to the back so that it has more than the normal amount of nails holding the backing on. I also am putting glue between the backing and the particle board before I put the nails. I then let it dry for 24 hours before I put anything on the furniture. I have found that this simple and inexpensive extra step really helps to make my particle board furniture pieces last longer.

Some of the pieces are not possible to be installed on the finished side. That may be my fault, but I’ve put furniture together before, and I took this thing apart twice to try to fix it. I couldn’t. But, didn’t remove any stars for thatHowever, it has a very bad design flaw. The fixed shelves are an incorrect distance apart. That means that it really only has five usable shelves. The other two, because of the fixed shelves, have no more than three inches of vertical space. It would hold a lot more items if those two shelves could hold their full complement of items.I am very happy with the size and height. A couple of tweaks could have made this better.
